Beginnings:

"Once, there was...

"In a certain city/town/village, there lived... (used when the certain place's name is not important. A variant of this beginning gives the general location of the certain place)

"Long ago, there was..."

"Long ago, when the world was new, and Meloetta had just sung the song of creation...." (usually used to begin pour quoi tales)

"Everyone knows that Sorin is quite the trickster..." (commonly used to begin trickster tales where the trickster Pikachu Sorin is the star)

"Hear now the song of..." (used to begin narrative and historical ballads)

Endings:

"...and all was well." (Ash's special variation on "and they all lived happily ever after.")

"Because that's Sorin for you!" (common ending to a Sorin tale)

"The tales of his/her/their adventures were told by many for years to come."

"...and they all lived happily for many years." (the common Animata equivalent to "and they all lived happily ever after."

"To this day, this is why (X)" (the common ending to a pour quoi tale)
Some common story beginnings and endings of Animata, the world of "Pokemon: Aria of Victory"

By no means complete!
