(an instrumental of "Only the Beginning" plays as the word "Previously..." appears onscreen)

Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(we see Kochou dancing in his new outfit)

Niji(voiceover): We finally arrived in Shinou to start a tour there, but the Rockets had appeared to win everyone over before we even got there! (we see an angry crowd) However, a quick costume change and no one knew the difference! (we see Ash's new transformation into Kochou) Ash wasn't the only one that got new duds, the band did too! (we see the gang's new transformations) The new look was enough to win the people over, and our tour hit a high note--literally. (we hear Kochou's high note again)

Today we're looking for a new wind instrumentalist--can we find one to replace Mizuirochou?


Episode 28: Searching For a Star

(We open on the scene of Mizuirochou's bedroom, where she is seated on her bed looking at a letter tearfully)

Kochou(voiceover): After a few weeks in Shinou, Mizuirochou got an opportunity of a lifetime--to get involved in TV. But in order to fullfill that dream, that meant saying goodbye to us. (We see Mizuirochou tearfully explaining her dillema as Misty enters the room) It was not an easy decision for her or for us, but ultimately, she decided to take the job for one of the hosts of "Good Morning, Shinou"...

(we fade to see the Beautiflies gathered around Mizuirochou)

Midorichou: You SURE you want to do this, right? (Mizuirochou tearfully nods as she takes a guitar from a nearby stand and tunes it)

Ierochou: Okay...just know that we enjoyed having you with us, and we'll miss you too.

Kochou: Also know that you're always welcome back if it doesn't work out.

Mizuirochou: Thank you...all of you. (she wipes away a tear as she readies the guitar) Before I say goodbye though...I want to show Kochou that the guitar lessons he's been giving me are paying off. (she tears up again as she prepares to play)

(music begins as the scene fades to the gang seeing Mizuirochou off at a TV studio)

Mizuirochou: I hear the voice, of my destiny call,
And I know I must go find my way... (Mizuirochou strolls foward to the TV studio entrance)
The hardest part, will be leaving you all, (Mizuirochou looks back at the gang one last time)
And I'll miss you much more than words can say... (Kochou hugs Mizuirochou one last time)

I'll be only, a memory away...
If you need me, you can call me any time of day and I'll be there...it's okay...
I'm only a memory away...

(music fades out and Kochou speaks as we return to the band in their room again)

Kochou(voiceover): With Mizuirochou gone, that meant we had to fill the position of wind instrumentalist. (we see Misty making auditon posters) Little did we know, the Rockets were also looking for a new face... (we fade to see the Rockets in a base somewhere in Jubilife City. Yami is looking at the entertainment section of the newspaper)

Yami: Check this out, guys! Beauty-boy's gone splitsville!

Kage: REALLY??? (he dashes to look at the headline, but frowns when he reads it) Sorry, Yami...they didn't go splitsville per se, just one of the members left to do something else.

Yami: Oh, okay...

Meowth: Dere's a difference between splitsville and goin' solo, ya know.

Anya: Furthermore, Silver Boy's having auditions for a new Beautifly...

Yami: Then why don't WE recruit someone new too?

Kage: You know, Yami...you may be annoying sometimes, but...I like your style!

(music begins as we seen the Rockets listening to people sing)

Anya: I come right out,

In this kind of joint! (Kage presses a REJECT button, making an auditionee fall through a trapdoor)

(the scene fades as we see Kochou listening to another auditionee flat out butcher a harmonica riff)

Ierochou: Okay... (to the auditionee) That was all right...(she consults a list as the auditionee departs) That's another one that didn't even make it past round 1. (crosses the name off)

Aiirochou: We've had a few good ones, though. (shows Ierochou her list of auditionees she liked.)

Akaichou: Yeah...today hasn't been too bad. (she checks her list) Next!

(We hear drum sticks tap twice before music begins. As Kochou sings, we look on various auditionees playing)

Misty: So, how have auditions gone today?

Kochou: Not half bad, actually...

Aiirouchou: Better than yesterday, that's for sure. (everyone laughs before the notes of "Beautifly" fill the air)

Misty: I got it! (she answers her cell phone) Hello? Hi, Dawn...we're doing okay...the auditions? A bit slow, but we're making some progress today...mm-hmm...heard from Mizuirochou at all?...yeah...tell her we miss her too...and also tell her that whoever we choose will share duties with her...all right, bye. (hangs up)

Midorichou: What did Dawn say?

Misty: She wanted to know how the auditions were going, and also said that Mizuirochou's doing fine, but misses you all like crazy.

Aiirochou: Anything else?

Misty: I also told her that if Mizuirochou decides to return, the new Beautifly will share duties with her.

(The Beautiflies look quizzically at Misty)

Midorichou: Run that by me again? I'm not sure I understood the first time.

Misty: Basically...

(we see the scene of Chibi Aiirochou writing)

Misty(voiceover): If Mizuirochou returned, and we write a song that has parts for two wind instruments... (Chibi Aiirochou shows Chibi Kochou the song and the parts in question) Mizuirochou would take one (we see Chibi Mizuirochou playing a harmonica), and the new Beautifly would take the other. (we see a sillhouetted chibi human with an orange question mark in it playing a saxophone)

Beautiflies: Oh...

Akaichou: Speaking of new Beautiflies, I'm ready to get back to work.

Misty: Okay...let's head back... (she leads the way back to an office building)

(The scene wipes to show Kochou listening to an orange haired girl playing on a harmonica. When she finishes the riff, everyone applauds)

Aiirochou: That was great, Zoe!

Zoe: My pleasure...I've always dreamed of being in a band like the Beautiflies one day....

Kochou: Well, so far you look promising...let's try the saxophone next...

Zoe: Okay... (she takes a saxophone waiting by the judge's table)

(saxophone riff as music begins)

Beautiflies: Like a dream...

Kochou: I appear to you...

Beautiflies: Like a dream...

Kochou: That is comin true,

Beautiflies: Like a dream...

Kochou: I will lead you to a place you've never seen before!

Beautiflies: Like a dream...

(everyone applauds as Zoe bows)

Akaichou: Very good!

Aiirochou: I'd say you've earned the right to be a Beautifly!

Zoe: Really???? (she runs to hug Aiirochou)

Ierochou: Here... (she gives Zoe a orange digital watch-like device) Just put this on and tell it "Ready!"

Zoe: Okay.... (she puts the watch on) Ready! (the watch glows orange) Orange wings of Light, it's time to fly! (as Zoe says "it's time to fly", she draws a circle of orange light around herself, which bonds to her clothes. Her shirt turns orange with black trim, and her jeans turn into sparkling orange slacks. Next, her shoes turn orange with a sun emblem on them. Finally, the light flies into her hand, where it forms a saxophone. Her hair also lengthens to shoulder length)

Orenjichou: Haeru wingu, Orenjichou yo!

Kochou: Welcome aboard, Orenjichou!

Orenjichou: Wow...look at me! I look so cool! (everyone else laughs as Orenjichou hugs Kochou. The words "To Be Continued..." appear over the scene)

(an instrumental of "When Tomorrow Comes" plays as the word "Next..." appears onscreen)

Midorichou(voiceover): Next time, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(We see Mizuirochou looking out the window of a dressing room)

Midorichou(voiceover): Orenjichou's first real test comes during our first show in Jubilife City, and to make matters worse, the Rockets also have a new face in town! (we see a sillhouette of a boy with a question mark in it) But to counter this potential bad news, comes a bit of good news: Mizuirochou returns! (we see the band rejoicing as Mizuirochou and Kochou hug again) With Mizuirochou back with us, can we counter the Rockets? Stay tuned!
