Episode 2: Nagatane's Ambitions (part 2)

"What can you tell us about this Nagatane, Maiha?" the Akari puppet asks as the three puppets "walk" into a scene of a road, their performers somewhat hidden behind some trees on the set.

"As the townspeople told you before, he is a very brash and arrogant young noble who prefers to assert his strength by oppressing others." the Maiha puppet explains. "But as we all know, pride goeth before a fall."

"Yes...I remember the story of the magical Aspear tree my mother once told me." the Kazu puppet muses, to some knowing giggles as the audience remembers Brock telling the story in question.

"Unlike the tax collector in that story, Nagatane is not that gullible--he is very sly and cunning, but is a coward when cornered." the Maiha puppet explains as the three puppets return to the town from before, where the "fire" has been put out. "When cornered, he will flee--that's why I have never quite been able to catch him."

"The Lady of Frost has come!" a child announces, to some happy music as more townsperson puppets crowd around the three hero puppets.

"I have heard what has happened, and know who has committed the deed." the Maiha puppet vows over some heroic music. "Though Nagatane has eluded me many times before, I may have a chance with these two helping me. In return for their help in bringing Nagatane to justice, I will help them with their own quest."

"The last we heard of Nagatane, he was headed to the northern mountains, possibly to Mt. Luna." a woman puppet explains as the lights go down over a familiar harp.

"And so, with the rogue Maiha alongside them, our heroes journeyed north, to the city of Samhin and Mt. Luna." Brock concludes the show over the song he is playing. "But tracking down a rogue warlord is only the beginning!"

Applause rings through the yard as the puppeteers unmask themselves and take a bow...
