Literature Text

The Pokemon Lore Stage is a competition between storytellers and musicians from all across the Pokeworld.

Both amateur and pro storytellers are welcome to compete--although it helps if you have some experience.

Each Lore Stage competition has a theme (such as "adventure", "pour quoi', "love found", to name a few), and the storytellers are challenged to tell a short and a long story befitting that theme. The storytellers are allowed to use any talent they have to help in telling the stories, including their Pokemon. This includes everything from musicians (like Brock), dance, costumes, puppets, mimicry (like Brock), and even stage combat or stage archery at some venues.

Storytellers are judged in four areas:

Knowledge--does the storyteller know their story well, and recover from missteps well?
Energy--does the storyteller show enthusiasm, and engage with the audience?
Style--does the storyteller use their talents well in bringing their story to life?
Appeal--is the audience interested in the story being told?

The winners of a Lore Stage earn a color stripe, with the goal to create a rainbow. Those that do earn seven stripes and create a rainbow are crowned Masters and Mistresses of Lore, and go on to perform during the pre-League festivities.
